Modular Cardboard Chair

This was the final assignment for Ken Hori's Spatial Dyanmics class (Fall 2015). The assignment was to make a modular cardboard chair that can be reconfigured to create at least three different chairs with six of the same modules. All modular cardboard chairs were handcut

Each modular chair has a joint inside the center which you can use to join one module to the other
It can be adjusted into different lengths

Here is the joint seperated from the modular chair
It can be taken in and out of the center, length is also adjustable

To expand and adjust the shape of the modular chair, it has detachable lids and supporters

The lids and supporters release flaps/wings
These flaps/wings allow more variety to what configurations the modular chair can take

Here are some of the reconfigurations you can make with six of these modules
