Last september I had the opportunity to travel to Bolivia to make a reportage for a Spanish NGO called "Paz y Desarrollo".
They work principally in the southern region of Potosí, a mostly a barren, mountainous region (more than 4000m of altitude!!!) with one large plateau to the west, where the largest salt flat in the world, Salar de Uyuni, is located. Potosí was the richest province in the Spanish empire, providing a great percentage of the silver that was shipped to Europe and now is the poorest of the country.

The NGO is trying to help people to develop agriculture economy (with more efficient irrigation system) in some of the most remote comunities around Potosí.
It was a fantastic professional and personal experience and with the photos will be make an exhibition in Madrid this spring.
All the photos are property of PAZ Y DESAROLLO.
