    Previously, the Mallards had a rich history of minor league hockey in the Quad Cities, until they were forced to suspend action in 2007 due to the arrival of the Quad City Flames, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Calgary Flames. After two disappointing seasons, the Flames picked up and left town, leaving the Quad Cities without a hockey team... Chances of hockey in the Quad Cities seemed slim to none. However, things would change quickly as the Quad City Mallards reappeared for the 2009 season in the International Hockey League. In May of 2009, I was contacted by Chris Lencheski, owner of the Quad City Mallards Hockey Club. He asked me to create a brand new identity for the Mallards, everything from the colors to logos to uniforms. Read Less
