Designing a new product is a long process, with a lot of phases. But it is also a fascinating one.
The company founder had an idea for a new product and I will show the way I contributed to materialising that idea.

The first thing to do was drawing some sketches following her guidelines. Also deciding on some initial measurements for the new product.
Then we passed these sketches to the CAD designer, so I could get some CAD files to send to the factory and order some samples. Some measurements had to be changed slightly to make the best use of the plywood sheet so the waste would be minimal.

We contacted the factory to create some samples in several colours, to decide on the ones that our target customers would find more appealing.
We had never ordered grey colours before so we needed to be careful with our decision, and make the grey work in harmony with the other colours of the range.
Some of these samples were used to test the usability of the product and see how it could be improved.
I also tested the assembling of the product, in order to design the instructions and packaging.
Also, I helped to organise the photo shoot (for both technical and lifestyle photographs), so the professional photographer would have some guidelines to work with. These photographs were a must to promote the new product on social media and on the site.
While the factory was doing the production, in the office we were planning the marketing campaigns and the selling plan. From naming the product, creating landing pages and graphics for the newsletter, to creating the product page on the e-commerce site. And that´s the whole process so the customers can enjoy this product at home.
