Idea
Catherine of Braganza was the only Portuguese Princess that become Queen Consort after  marrying King Charles II (1638-1705). Daughter of the King João IV of Portugal, from House of Braganza, and his consort, Queen Luisa de Gusmão. She was born in Vila Viçosa. 

She was a very independent and strong woman, which brought  to England the Portuguese custom of drinking  tea and also the orange marmalade. 

Given the importance of Catherine of Braganza and proximity to the Paço da Rainha (Her last residence in Portugal), we decided to change the name of the Residencial to Princesa Hotel & Tea (Princess Hotel & Tea).

Therefore, we used in the Hotel, the theme colors of the various types of tea. 

Having a common palette formed by beige or gray, and using on each floor a specific tea based  color:

- Level 1 - WHITE TEA
Tell the story of the birth of Catherine of Braganza (1638) , when her father was not the King of Portugal) and lived ousidet  Lisbon in a small village named Vila Viçosa.
White simbolizes purity related to birth
All the colors used in these rooms are based on gray or beige with notes in white.

- Level 2 - GREEN TEA 
Tell the story, when her father became KIng of Portugal, and ended the Spanish domition (1640). By then she became Princess of Portugal and started to live in Lisbon.
Green simbolizes the Greens years, youth.
All the colors used in these rooms are based on gray or beige with notes in green.

- Level 3 - TEA RED FRUITS
Tell the story of her passion and love to King Charles II of England)
Red simbolizes the passion, the love.
All the colors are based on gray or beige with notes of red.

- Level 4 - BLACK TEA
Tell the story of Catherine of Braganza as Queen Consort of England.
Black simbolizes luxury, wealth, pomp and also sadness.
All the colours are based on gray or beige with notes of black.
