The idea of this lamp comes from two simple natural phenomenons, sunrise and sunset.
The movement of our planet around the sun in fact
causes an illusion that makes us think that the sun is moving around the earth.
From this simple and poetical marvel, I designed a lamp that as well our star, moves from east to west.
Almanacco is an italian word to describe a sort of calendar that provide the times of the rising and setting of the sun and moon.
The idea to create a lamp inspired from this phenomena comes also from the necessity of having a flexible product. Almanacco can indeed be easily customized by the user, who can adjust the angle of the light simply rotating the metal parts as much as he needs.
By doing so, Almanacco can be transformed from a desk to an ambient lamp. His light source is a LED strip that is stored into a metal pipe which is also the rotary axis of the lamp.
At the edges of the pipe have been welded two screws threaded that allow you to screw the two walnut discs, which lock the position of the lamp.
