Personal Identity  |  The A-Z of Graphic Design
Designing my personal identity has been very important for me and not easy as it has challenged me to brand myself. I decided to start by looking into my name. Ever since I was young my friends have called me Abz so not to get me confused with my best friend who happened to be called Abbie!

Looking at my identity 'ABZ' I realised that the the first and last letters are the beginning and end letters of the alphabet, being a graphic designer typography and font design are very important to me so I decided to look into creating my own A-Z of graphic design.

I found the most effective way to mirror the transition from A-Z in my personal logo was to use an overlay technique where each letter is placed on one another so you can see through A to B to Z. I then decided to use Cyan Magenta and Yellow for the letters so that it reflects the CMYK 4 colour print process. When I come to package my direct mailer all the print collateral will be packaged in black so that the colour bursts out on opening and to finish off the colour set.

I have used Futura typeface for the logo as it is a very symmetrical classic typeface, that shows off the overlay technique in the most clear way. The idea behind the business cards is that there is a set of 26, one for each letter of the alphabet.

I then designed my own typeface using geometric shapes and continuing with the overlay technique which really shows off the way colours are mixed. Finally I wrote my own graphic design glossary stating the A-Z of graphic design skills that I have to offer, and that I understand a wide range of processes.
