A school project that required the manipulation of a preferred design quote through the use of typography on a poster.
    Published:
This school project required me to choose a relatable quote from a designer and to make use of it in a visually appealing typographic poster. The quote that I chose to work on was by Hans Hoffmann, “The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak”.

Just like the quote, I wanted the verbs (simplify, eliminate and speak) to stand out in my poster since I view them to be the key points of the quote. Hence, I decided to have a heavy contrast on the font weight between the verbs and the rest of the quote. The line through the word ‘Eliminate’ was used to create a focal point and also evoke curiosity in the viewer.
