One of the first exercises I had to do in college was to design a limited edition packaging for the book Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad. The book gave me some sort of dark grey look and feel that I decided to use, and since "death" was a constant, I thought buzzards were a good visual metaphor. Back there, I was somewhat into minimalistic work, so the result was really bold: grey, dark, like a heavy silence.
The package contents were the book, a brochure, a notebook, a pen and a pencil.
