Global fashion industry icon, photographer and director Troy Word invited Valiant Pictures' Vanguard crew to the set for his most recent shoot for the beloved brand Lovesac. Troy has a long-standing relationship with the brand and the executives behind the popular "Sactionals," the world's most versatile couch. 

 

During production at NYC's premier rental space Bathhouse Studios, Lovesac's Creative Director Vincent Nigro shares these insights into their latest shoot with Word: "It has to be fashionable, stylish, it's got to be pretty, it's got to be interesting... that's why we're using Troy. There's no better. He brings both the quality of detail with the furniture photography, but he also lights it and uses the model in a beautiful way."

A native of Oklahoma, Word has been shooting pictures since age 12. A chance encounter at age 16 with Richard Avedon inspired a move to New York, living in the YMCA while studying at the School of Visual Arts. He soon began documenting New York City nightlife, which gave him a dramatic introduction to the world of celebrity and fashion. Following a stint as the assistant to Albert Watson, Word embarked on a solo career that has led him around the world on projects for advertising, editorial, and celebrity clients. An active director and cinematographer in addition to his photography, Word's client list includes Macy's, Liz Claiborne, IMAN Cosmetics, Jay Manuel Beauty, Rent the Runway, and Lovesac, to name but a few. He is the director of the award-winning feature documentary "The Presence of Joseph Chaikin," about the life and work of the revolutionary experimental theatre director.
