Stolen. Volume One

Stolen is a bi-annual publication supporting analogue artists and their art. A celebration of all things hand-made, Stolen has collectively published over 250 artists from across 40 countries in four 120-page hardcover volumes. Creating a minimal layout which championed the contributors artwork, without competing with it, was key to Stolen’s visual aesthetic. Multiple page layouts were developed to house a variety of artwork formats, accommodating as many submissions as possible.

Production methods were carefully considered to enhance the blank canvas aesthetic – as well as honouring Stolen’s analogue principles. The foiled cloth-covered spine, mounted 3mm hardcovers, and foil stamping became a signature feature paying homage to handcrafted print techniques.

Volume One cover featured Michael Dunn’s photography with a silver foil, bright green PMS, and matt laminated finish. The print execution allowed the design to be taken to the next level, encouraging the minimalist aesthetic to stand-alone for the brand without overshadowing the artwork.
