This project was a short brief that I was given from Barnsley College in which I was asked to create a poster for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. As this was a challenge given to me as part of my course, I was only allowed to use 3 colours in which I used blue, yellow and green. I also had to create this poster without using the words 'Olympic Games', 'Rio' or '2016' and I wasn't allowed to use iconography such as the Olympic Rings and Olympic logos (this was a tough challenge!)
Here is my end result! Using only 3 colours I created a skyline of Rio De Janeiro with the Olympic Medals overhanging. The 3 colours I used are based around the flag of Brazil. As I wasn't able to use the words 'Rio' I created the slogan 'Every four year, a new standard is set. Set the standard for Brazil.' therefore it made it clear that this poster was based on the Olympic Games in Rio without directly stating this.
The colours used were the same colours as used in the flag of Brazil (without the white)
