Canine Rainbow Rebrand & Marketing Material

OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective for this project was to help mature the aesthetic and broaden the marketing side of Canine Rainbow’s brand. Established in 2011, the logo was formed with great intention. My goal was to help their brand stand out by tweaking the logo and revise their promotional post card — their primary promotional material. Additionally they want to form a broader online presence through social media to expand the Canine Rainbow brand voice.

CONCEPT:
Canine Rainbow is to not just about helping their clients train their dogs. It is about nurturing a community of dogs, their owners and enhance the value of dog training within its fellowship.

STRATEGIC PROCESS:
Starting with the logo — the great story behind the silhouettes of the dogs was that they were all pets, trained and raised by Livia (founder fo Canine Rainbow) giving a personal touch to the brand. In some ways I also saw the various colours reflecting that every dog has a personality and they cater to these differences. I felt it was important to keep this element in the logo, while tweaking the typography to make it more legible and consistent. After the first concepts were presented we felt the logo should be a circle giving an official feel to the brand, being their fifth year of operation.
STRATEGIC PROCESS:
Regarding the post cards — ideally we wanted them to stand out if placed on tables at local stores. I felt it was necessary to have them colourful and bright to reflect the name ‘Canine Rainbow’ and the overall brand feel. Once everything was approved, I sourced printers and provided quotes to the client.
HURDLES:
The Canine Rainbow branding process was pretty streamlined. I justified my decisions regarding the negative space and general aesthetics while designing the logo and post cards. The main obstacle was making sure the colour spectrum in their logo worked for both print and digital ensuring the logo was consistent. They had issues in the past with the orange colour dog in the logo as it would print as a red hue. I made sure to provide them with various logo files to garantee uniformity.
RESULTS:
Canine Rainbow is pleased with the outcome, so much so they have asked me to do additional projects including marketing initiatives and updating their website. They were great to work with, as their passion shines through and I look forward to working on future projects with them. If you are in the Missisauga or Etobicoke area and looking for superior dog training — get in touch with them today!
