Nicholas White's profile

Centre of Geographic Sciences

As an independent 3D modelling assignment, I developed a risk-suitability index to determine areas of socio-economic vulnerability throughout Nova Scotia using 2001 census data. Cumulative weighted risk scores were extruded in ArcScene to highlight areas of higher vulnerability.
BELOW A web-mapping application created using ArcGIS Server to display locations and services in the Halifax region. Web-maps introduce dynamic, interactive capabilities not possible with traditional cartographic products.
A false-colour (4,3,2) composite image enhancement was used to bring out athropocentric features in the Saint John area of New Brunswick. I have also accurately orthorectified and classified satellite imagery (Landsat 7, Spot 5), as well as aerial photos using PCI, ArcGIS, and open-source products.
There is a large demand for GIS analysis of trade areas and potential markets. Here I looked at NSLC customers shopping in the Truro area.
