Este proyecto consistía en hacer una re-significación material de la obra de Gunta Stolz, una artista textil que se destacó por sus elaborados tapices. De las obrar de esta artista se quiso rescatar la noción de los pixeles que el tejido del tapiz permitía observar. Para el proyecto con base en la obra “Slit Tapestry Red/Green” realizó esta pieza a modo de collage mesclando materiales como lana, papel, cuero, hilo, cinta y listones de madera, los cuales permitían en conjunto generar la misma noción de pixel, que tanto se destacaba en la obra de Stolz.
Re-significance of the Material: This project consisted in making a resignified material from the Gunta Stolz’s work, she was a textile artist know because of her tapestry work. From this artist´s work I wanted to rescue the meaning of pixels and the tissue of the tapestry. This project was based on the artwork named “slit tapestry red/green” this piece was made in a collage form mixing materials such as wool, paper, leather, thread, tape and wooden ribbons. The mix of these materials allowed creating the same pixel notion, which was wanted in the artist´s work.
