Fluid were asked to take on the huge and wonderfully nostalgic job of creating a style guide that contained a visual history of SEGA’s retro consoles and all their leading games. The MegaDrive and Master System required separate brand identities and styling to bring all their respective titles and imagery together whilst still sitting nicely under a “SEGA Retro” umbrella.

 

Logos, characters, key-arts, patterns, icons, borders and more, all had to be redrawn or created from scratch for not only the consoles, but for a variety of key titles such as Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, Golden Axe and Ecco the Dolphin.

The final result was a 430 page monumental document that featured all our favourite characters and games from SEGA’s finest and most fondly remembered eras.
