Streetlight lampposts

Tabloid headlines are becoming increasingly risky with indecent words like bitch, kak (shit) and vark (pig) appearing on streetlight lampposts. With the pay-off: Keep it clean, Daily Soaps latest campaign is aimed at cleaning up public spaces. Already being cleaned up are train locomotives and inner city graffiti.

The Idea
Tabloid headlines are next in line. Particularly fitting for this is the Afrikaans saying:  Was jou bek met seep uit. Directed towards whoever uses dirty language, it literally means go wash your mouth with soap. Stickers with the line So n bek kort seep (A mouth like that needs soap) and the Daily Soap logo were stuck on depictions of tabloid headlines found on streetlight lampposts. On the next lamppost is a poster without the sticker.

"Crack addict f**ked my dog"
"The bitch shot him"
"The pig lied"
Four streetlight poster were distributed in and around Cape Town’s city centre on the day the campaign launched.
