Posters and Billboards by Elizabeth Firmage

This is one in a series of posters to promote the Utah Natural Resources Bookstore in Salt Lake City. The store has a treasure trove of maps, guidebooks, and all kinds of other info. This poster was hung at local colleges and coffee shops just before spring break.
This is one in a series of posters to promote the Utah Natural Resources Bookstore in Salt Lake City. The store has a treasure trove of maps, guidebooks, and all kinds of other info. This poster was used to target outdoor enthusiasts, as well as students and professionals doing field work.
A banner outside the museum promoting the UMFA's general collection of art from around the world. I liked the idea of all these different art styles looking at each other, and one of them looking at the viewer.
Billboard for Uinta Golf, advertising their new store in St George, Utah. Originally they wanted to showcase the various golf clubs and athletic gear at the store, but I convinced them that a more abstract and fun idea would promote the store better. Luckily, they went for it, and they told me so many people said they came into the store because of the billboard!
Simple is best. A painting company wanted to promote themselves. I actually came up with this idea pretty quickly but then agonized over the what background color would work best. This green was my first idea, and I went round in a big circle before coming back to it. Sometimes you're just right the first time!
The University of Utah came to us and wanted to promote their MBA program which catered to professionals already working but also wanting to get their degree. I liked the idea of people wearing different shoes depending on what they're doing so I thought this would promote their program well.
A local travel agency wanted to promote their upcoming New York travel package. I tried to come up with something clever and different from just showing the NY skyline.
DaVinci wanted to promote their rentable offices and meeting rooms for freelancers and startups in an engaging way. This is what I came up with.
If you're from Salt Lake City, you know that La Caille is the fanciest restaurant in the area. French cuisine and beautiful grounds make this a really special place. The billboard needed to convey sophistication and class, but still be readable as people are driving by.
It's hard to show marble and granite on a billboard, but hopefully this made it work. The main thing was to get the name of the company out there.
A local homebuilder wanted to promote their high-end construction abilities. In this case the photo mostly spoke for itself, but I needed to choose the perfect font and colors to complement it.
