The cool folks over at The Extraordinary Journey of a Black Nerd Group on Facebook recently held a contest to find a new logo and mascot for their group on Facebook. So I decided to enter. In recent times, I've been focusing a lot on my comic book illustration. However, logo and branding are what I normally do at GemGfx.com. So this contest presented me with a unique opportunity to blend both disciplines into one. Out of about six entries, mine was chosen as the winner.

UPDATE: The folks at EJOBN sent a new request for me to create a female mascot to adequately represent the female members of their group. The result was a very cool character that was well received.
