Infographics and icons created for the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and CardioSmart, designed for both print and online/social media usage.
Built on the branding aesthetic of the ACC, the visual storyline of this infographic was designed and illustrated from a few bullet points in a Word Doc, and visual research into sphygmomanomaters (the device used to measure blood pressure). This infographic was well-recieved in likes and shares on Facebook.
Designed for CardioSmart, the visual stoeyline for this infographic was designed and illustrated from a bullet-pointed Word Doc. Some of the icons came from the ACC's library of stock sources, which needed graphic treatment, while others where created from scratch. This infographic fared well CardioSmart's Facebook page, receiving a record number of likes and shares.
While sugar consumption is the focus of this infographic, the goal was to avoid some of the common cliches used to convey the topic, especially within the medical/scientific community. The solution was to use snarkier illustrations for the top row, while the secondary illustrations were kept clean and graphically muted in order to convey, and not overpower, the supporting textual information.
These infographics were designed to be CardioSmart's branded infographic template, created for both print and online/social media usage. While the figure in the top infographic is borrowed from the ACC's library of stock images, the rest of the illustrations were created from scratch.
Icons and illustrations created for the ACC and CardioSmart infographics. With the exception of the overweight and blood pressure icons (which themselves required subsequent graphic treatment), all of the images were designed from scratch, and not borrowed from the Noun Project.
