Wooden Book
In this project I was asked to explore the concept of the book as an art object. I was excited by the option of bringing a sculptural aspect to my prints. So I decided to make the book from wood to give it a hard rigid quality. The book consists of 3 main parts. The bulk of it made from a square frame which encases x-ray like images of hair printed onto acetate. These are made so the veiwer can remove and rearrange them. The 'book' part of the object is a series of narrative prints. The message of the story being, if you don't brush your hair it will turn evil.
