Through analysis and representation, study an important precedent in twentieth-century residential architecture:
The rhythm of this structure-grid also plays out on the façade in the placement, size, and shape of balconies, ribbon windows and their mullions, and doors. Considering that the horizontal and vertical grids comprise modules existing in a 5:4 relationship (1.25 m to 1.00 m, respectively), the villa is rendered as a slightly squashed cube.  This underlying organization gives rise to rich possibilities for musical interpretation.
