Suffice to say, I am Feeling The Bern. I’ve been following Bernie Sanders' rise and rise since early last year and I continue to feel as though he is on the cusp of something momentous.
I’m a Brit, but Bernie is leading a robust, honest counter-corporate movement that would have implications around the world. A politician not co-opted by or beholden to special interests because he will not take money from them. Something that most thought impossible to avoid when running for office, let alone the office of President.
Funded almost exclusively by over 5 million individual contributions by regular folks at about 27 bucks a piece, he has kept up with the Clinton fund-raising freight-train. I could keep evangelising, but if you are of voting age in the USA (and even if you are not), please look up Bernie on his Facebook page. Watch some videos, read a bit about him and see what you think.
I have been inspired by the spirit of Bernie’s message and by the unity and energy of the grassroots movement that is propelling his insurgent campaign. I wanted to make a poster that captured and celebrated this moment in time and I’m delighted that it’s been broadly adopted by the grassroots supporters and utilised by the official campaign.
My aim was always to make limited edition screen prints, but I wanted to do it in the right way so that any money raised through sales work for Bernie’s campaign in the most effective way possible.
