Enchanted Light
Early March 2012 in the light and landscape of New Mexico by Photographer Jim Crotty
My first visit to New Mexico was in February 2009. I participated in the annual summit of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), held that year in Albuquerque. I was immediately captivated with the peaceful beauty that is the light and landscape of the high desert. In early March 2012 I returned with the goal of exploring even more in the way of natural and architectural subjects from Albuquerque to Santa Fe including access to areas that are off the beaten path. The Cabezon Peak Wilderness Area was of particular interest to me as a photographer. In October 2012 I will return once again to present an adventure photography workshop and tour in conjunction with New Mexico Jeep Tours. This will be a four-day program of customized, personal instruction on outdoor nature photography limited to just nine participants.

The light of New Mexico is beyond enticing for the visual artist,
