In June of 2015 I came upon the art of Zentangle. Intrigued not so much with the art itself as the calming, therapeutic effect I had heard of in visual testimonials on the Zentangle website. As fate would have it five weeks after my certification a car accident prevented me from extending and holding my right arm long enough to do my life's work of over thirty years, painting murals. This new art has been a blessing.
If done as intended you make no plans in advance rather you work within the parameters of a 3.5 inch square "tile" of watercolor paper. In a state of gratitude you let your mind go where it may. With the help of structured patterns you create, one stroke at a time. Again, I find I enjoy a larger format. This "tile" is 10.5 x 10.5"
