Starting from 1978 Bangkok Asian Game, south and north Korea made a joint Olympic sports team in 1991. While in the 2000 Sydney Olympic, south and north Korea, as a divided nation, marched together for the first time in history. After that, south and north Korea marched together annually from 2002 to 2006. It paved the way for the divided nations to improve their position in the world and opened up possibilities of reconciliation and co-existence rather than confrontation.
The course both Korea should take in the future should be advancing the date of national unification through furthering detente between them and fostering reconciliation and national dialogue. And only then we could finally attain the long-cherished wish of our people.
