The Champagne Popsicle

Initial 2D exploration was focused on understanding form and proportions, the aim was to design a vessel that carried the main attributes of the beverage: excessive, decadent and sensual.

As the exploration in 3D continued, the goal became to find an innovative way to enjoy champagne, focusing on a different market and keeping the attributes that characterize the famous drink.  The champagne popsicle became a daring idea. Corning Museum of Glass granted it first place out of all design proposals and developed a prototype in their glass blowing studio in Corning, New York.

The project was featured in RIT promotional brochures, the Corning Museum of Glass Blog and RIT – Activating the Vignelli Archive website.
