Atreyu
modular system for prototyping interactions
Through this research project we provided designers with a toolkit that allowed them to combine physical programming and prototyping with interactive technologies. Atreyu is an open source platform from a physical and coding point of view.

30 moduls were communicating with each others allowing designers to sketch experiences by connecting inputs with outputs and play around with them.
The system was based on a bus communication system, therefore only one master (Red) module had to be externally powered. All modules could recognize each other by connecting them in pairs with an external cable (that could be removed afterwards). Black modules were used as building blocks (just passing the signal), while the white ones were outputs or inputs.

The project was committed by the ID Studio Lab and presented to the TEI conference 2010, Madeira, in the category “Work in progress”.
