Floral Abstract Print
The pattern itself is based on 1950s floral abstracts I've seen on vintage dresses of the post war era, including the colours, though I based them around colours coming into vogue in Autumn '12; soft, muted oranges, greens & off-whites.
I traced over the scanned flowers outlines and shapes, with ink in a rough & round about way.

Another layer of tracing paper for the guache textured portion. Just to get a rough outline of colour placement.
The two illustrated pieces went into the ol' scanner and voila, with some placement and then a repeated print, we have a pattern ready for yardage.
