Ian E. Manuel was just thirteen when he was put on death row for attempted murder. The Equal Justice Initiative took on his case and argued that it is cruel and unusual punishment to sentence a child to due in prison. He is currently eligible for parole.
To escape the harsh reality of prison, Ian writes poetry and I wanted to give him the ocean.
