Typography was the starting point for the MARCAR Branding logo, which gave way to its symbol.
Most well known branding firms have discreet typographic logos that let their work shine on its own. For the MARCAR logo we wanted something with a distinct typographic feel but not overwhelming. Being a new company it was important to create a strong logo, but with a familiar feel to it.
MARCAR is both an acronym of its owner's name (MARCo António Rezende) as well as the designation for the company's activity: MARCAR can mean Branding; to make a mark or leave a lasting impression.
Since MARCAR will work mostly as a consultancy agency, transparency is an important asset that most be conveyed by the logo. So for the symbol we came up with a wire frame "structure" that can be read as 3d shape of a cube with a 'M' on one of its corners (that can be used in different positions for different purposes in the future) or as 2d shape somewhat reminiscing of a branding iron.
