VISUAL DESIGN, WEB AND DIGITAL DESIGN THEME
Visual Heroes: Think of the people of the past or the present times that inspire you the most, no matter if they are rock and roll legends or unknown heroes. How would you visually represent their personalities and the impact they made on your life?
Gaius Julius Caesar, my selected visual hero
For the competition, I chose the famous figure of Caesar - the strategist whose name today is synonymous with leadership - as my visual hero. Inspired by his stories and all the abundant content available on the western world culture I planned a new way to bust interest to the teaching of History to the Z Generation.
In my opinion, History teaching does not have to be that repetitive activity with teachers and students locked in a room, reading long texts and inspecting irrelevant images. We have to use texts - for sure - but we can also engage images, videos, links to movies, tv series, games and all the kind of crossed reference that could help the youth to learn better.
That is why Historypedia is my concept. Historypedia is a platform that gathers different types of content about a famous historical personality like articles, images, videos and games. It's online, responsive and social - bringing History to the present life of the learners.
It is important to keep in mind that Caesar is my visual hero here but the platform could be used to enhance learning about any other historical figure.
User Experience
With content first concept in mind, I started to wireframe interfaces detailing User Experience and finished creating prototypes to refine navigation and presentation - both for desktop and mobile versions.
