Antikythera Swiss Tourbillon

A unique time piece inspired by the mysteries of the Antikythera mechanism which was conceived some 2000 years ago in Ancient Greece.

The rotation and orbit of the moon played a major part in the Greeks calender. The Antikythera payed particular attention to the dates at which there would be a full moon and this mechanism predicted when they would fall up to 19 years in advance.

The Greeks believed the 7 planets of the solar system revolved around the earth.  The center stem (time indicator) represents the earth, the hour rotor represents the suns orbit and the minute rotor represents the moons orbit.
