Wildlife of 2016 (thus far)

This hike was like walking in a winter wonderland. It was a fantastic experience even without the deer that happened to pop up 15 yards away. To see that felt remarkable.
A female grey squirrel hiding in her home.
The female's other half was sticking close by to protect her.
This scene makes me feel at peace. Maybe it's the soft appearance of the bird's feathers, the pastel colours throughout, or the fact that this looks like a sign of spring.
This rabbit seems to have found itself a nicely protected space. I didn't have to get terribly close and this rabbit took off into hiding.
This was one curious deer out of a group of five. The longer I sat there, the closer it moved towards me. I wonder how close it would have come if I had sat on the ground, completely still for another 20 mins.
