Strategy

My take on the SCAD Fash publication is specifically targeted at other college students who might not have any experience with high-end fashion. During my research, I found out that the current exhibition at SCAD Fash is mostly being visited by SCAD students, rather than outside visitors. Certainly, Daniel Lismore's exhibition can be a bit hard to understand for the uninitiated. My pitch is a quarterly publication aimed as a starter pack for those who have never seen Lismore's work before. To this end, I've included a tearable map within the publication- so that new visitors can remove and carry the map with them to the exhibition.

Visual Concept

My concept is controlled chaos. In his actual exhibition, Daniel Lismore balancees his ecletic, almost haphazard exhibits with a rigid, structured display system that is based off of the grid of the Chinese Terracotta Warriors. To that end, I wanted to use text boxes and image masks to confine and bring structure to otherwise chaotic imagery, to allow the reader to slowly understand Lismore's material without being overwhelemed.
