'Lady in a bush' screenprint

‘Lady in a Bush’

The image of a young woman sculpture was taken in Pincio Gardens, Rome, Italy. It shows dimensional transition from a female to sculpture / captured image / glitch malfunction / to, finally, a framed screenprint.

Analogue glitch technique is used to mask and denature reality and, at the same time, the absence of a profound reality. With each stage of its transition portrait is becoming broken, it emphasizes visual effects instead of details. It is not blended smoothly or shaded. The sensation in the eye that views the subject is recreating and the details of the subject are lost.

The image becomes representation, but not communication. The distinction between the natural and the simulation is fading. The process of replacement of the real is active and it is losing its origin, thus becoming a copy without an original. The new reality.

Simulation precedes and determines the real, - Jean Baudrillard
