HopeLab: Making a difference for kids

HopeLab is an agency whose mission is to harness the power of technology to improve human health and well-being. They have created video games, including Ruckus Nation and ReMission, to help kids fight their cancer. There are also strong employee loyalty and appreciation elements to the agency.
Custom gift wrap
HopeLab consistently shows appreciation to their employees. Several employees were honored with parting and milestone gifts. M Seth Design was commissioned to create wrapping paper for the gift boxes to further enhance the personal nature of the gifts. The honored associates were given a list of words describing them. Those descriptors became typographical texture, along with the recipient’s first name. They felt extremely appreciated upon receiving the gift, and were also given a poster of the wrapping paper so they didn’t have to worry about tearing the paper to get to the gift.
Ruckus Nation Trophy
This trophy was created for kids who excelled at the different programs. Since the programs were all about getting kids moving, the awards were kinetic, reminiscent of a marble drop game.
ReMission 2 Appreciation Gifts
In appreciation for the hard work accomplished on the ReMission2 video game, several gifts were created from custom-designed fabric. The fabric’s pattern was composed of video game piece graphics from the video, and items like an infinity scarf, pocket square, doggy jacket, Gilligan hat, tote bag, and pillow were fabricated from it. M Seth Design took this project from start to finish – designing the fabric pattern, working with a vendor to print the fabric, and art directing a tailor in sewing the pieces. Response from the recipients was overwhelmingly positive, and they felt much appreciated for their hard work on the game.
