_____THE CONCEPT____________________
BORDERS as the theme for the 2016 edition of Lichter Filmfest.
The concept behind this trailer is to visualize the geological borders as well as the psychological, the inner borders that exist in some peoples minds.
This is best told through the classic story of rivalry between cities or rather their inhabitants. Everything that is strange or different, that doesn’t fit in this narrow mindset has to be the rival’s fault.
In this case, the neighboring city to Frankfurt, „the rival“ is Offenbach. So according to the narrow minded Frankfurter, everything inexplicable has to have its origin in Offenbach… even if it is a superhero ;-)

_____PRE - PRODUCTION____________________
Since the shoot took place in February, outdoors and at night we knew we had to prep really good to keep everything as "smooth" as possible.

_____PRE - VISUALIZATION____________________
Besides storyboarding we decided to do a previz to see which shots were needed to tell the story and therefore keeping the shoot as short as possible.

_____THINGS I HAVE LEARNED____________________
There are always some important things to take away from a production. Here's what I learned:
_Shooting under difficult circumstances #1: Know the shots which are essential to tell the story.
_Shooting under difficult circumstances #2: Get as many helping hands as you can.
_Shooting under difficult circumstances #3: Prep, Prep, Prep
_If you can avoid it, don't shoot outdoors during winter - especially at night ;-)
