Bond-loosening juxtaposes my past relationship with my mother and our present relationship. Our past relationship is portrayed in the relationship between the bird and the crying woman. The bird (I as a child) had developed a bond with the crying figure (my mother) inspired by sympathy to console her. Our current relationship is portrayed through the standing figure (I as an adult) and the crying woman who hinders the movement of the standing figure bound to her. The small bird imagery embodies the sense of helplessness I felt as a child in not being able to help my mother other than to watch.
