This was my first work as a freelancer. The Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, in Lisbon, is an art school where I took drawing classes during the years of 2014 and 2015. One of the teachers asked me to design the catalogue of the Arte Hoje art exhibit, that happened earlier in 2014.
Since the exhibit per se didn't have any sort of visual characteristics, I decided to create a minimalistic look and feel, in a turquoise tone.
The catalogue was supposed to be digital only, so I decided for the iPad format, to be enjoyed both in tablet or computer.
Introduction
Each page was meant for each artist, and in that way, it was meant to be unique. The idea behind the catalogue was to distribute both the photos of their work and the biographic information in a way you wouldn't be able to find one page equal to other throughout the catalogue.
Since the catalogue was meant to be digital only, I decided to create hiperlinks inside it. Then, I made two different indexes: one to choose between the different categories of the exhibit (painting, drawing, engraving, photography, sculpture, installation and video); or pick a specific artist to check his work out.
I also drew a map of the exhibit, to give the viewer a feel of how the artists' works were displayed.
