Wearin' of the Green Parade - BR 2016

The St. Patrick's Day Parade took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 12. Despite the rainy weather forecast, the parade rolled at 10 a.m., and locals decked out in green still attended.
Throwers didn't let the rain ruin their float ride. They came prepared with umbrellas, ponchos and rain jackets, making the experience even more festive.
Throws included typical beads and objects you can catch at any Mardi Gras parade, but all the throws at Saturday's parade centered around an Irish theme.
The parade was a great opportunity for companies to advertise, as the St. Patrick's Day Parade is well-known throughout the Baton Rouge community. Many other businesses had their own floats or unique throws ready for the crowds.
People all around continuously attempted to catch as many throws as possible, but, without fail, many ended up getting pelted with tangled groups of beads.
The crowd used objects they caught to their advantage. This vuvuzela was grabbing float riders' attention left and right.
People were celebrating catches no matter the size or value.
The parade ended around 2 p.m., and the crowd shifted away from the street. Only trails of beads were left along the parade route as reminders of the event.
