Cover art developed for a two-track electronica EP that unfortunately wasn't used. For this piece I was mainly inspired by the EP's title — it speaks about personalities, essence and the liquidity of our lives.
Based on that I chose to explore different aspects of materials, such as translucency, harshness and glossiness to translate what the word bloodtype means to me: the way our personalities are singular and fluid, naturally assuming their shapes and taking over each individual.
The illustration was initially finished with a flat dark background, but once it was done I thought I should try a more graphic finish, so I decided to add a frame that bleeds through the glass edges and adds a layer to the piece. A thoughtful thank you to my friends from Tertúlia who let me use a texture from their weekly photo project.
