Village of Hope - Still Photography, Videography

Under the supervision of higher management I shot video and still pics in and around the Village of Hope for print, event presentations and online campaigning, using Canon EOS 5D/7D DSLR Cameras. Experimented with various lenses; Canon 18-55mm Lens and Canon 55-250mm Lens and Canon 50mm f/1.8 Lens. I enjoyed using the ProAm Jib/Crane to get better fingertip, floating steadycam-like shots, straight-line dolly and creative boom moves. We also, used the Blackmagic cameras to achieve higher resolution, global shutter and a more creative depth of fields. But, this cam is no fun for interiors. Used the Steadicam Merlin Camera Stabilizing System now and again. But, not the best for time constraints, especially when you have to change lenses and adjust weights in between shots. I found the Camera Track Dolly Slider Rail System most useful and effective for this type of work. Got to use the DJI Phantom Professional Quadcopter Drone 4K Video Camera,12 Megapixel Photos, Dual Battery Flight Bundle. I found it easy to fly. Very stable in the air. Smooth video capture, even during motion. But then, the battery life limits flying time (20 minutes). Wide-angle lens shows some edge distortion. I later purchased my own dji Inspire, which I found more superior for drone photography.
Although, this telephoto lens is not too stable without a tripod, I needed to capture as much images of families eating within a short space of time.  As well, children are always difficult to direct. I wanted to use an all-round telephoto lens to lose the focus both, in the foreground and the background, thus bringing the viewer into the boy's innocence.
I liked working with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III, using a Track Dolly Slider Rail System. Canon's  zooms and primes have stepping motors, which allows smooth and quiet focus, whilst shooting the video. With the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 and its combined telephoto range, I could adjust the focal length, zooming in on the action from a distance. For the JIB/Crane sequences, it was smarter to stick to a EF 50MM F/1.8 standard prime, which is always superb for speedy autofocus walk-arounds and action shots. This video project was EDITED with Final Cut Pro X. However, Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud is also utilized.
“Sonia escaped an abusive relationship and found safety for her and her son. She felt helpless, lost and homeless. She had fled abuse only to find herself homeless, bouncing from place to place, trying to make food assistance stretch. Leanne and her children lost their home and had no home to call their own. She wanted a better life for herself and her two children. She longed for a place where she and her young children could be safe. Nelson overcame his past of gangs, drugs and abandonment to give his daughter a better life...Sometimes he wouldn’t eat so that his daughter could eat. “
"We receive calls from women with children every day. Broken, sometimes fleeing abuse, sometimes battling addiction and always hurting for their children".
Our full line of audio products enabled me with a variety of capabilities when designing our sound systems. However, we’ve learned that audio quality was critical in all applications: between speakers, mixers, amplifiers, equalizers, digital signal processing, lighting, video conferencing and projection. Setting up the bands ranged from solo artists, choirs, to big band sounds. From high definition video and broadcast equipment to digitally controlled sound and lighting, new technology has provided such environments with tremendous possibilities. Worship services are streamed to the web. Ministry telepresence/unified communications has become an efficient and cost effective method of communication, in today's fast-paced global marketplace.
