La casa JV tiene su origen en el requerimiento de la propiedad de aprovechar las preexistencias: un pequeño pabellón y una cabaña que representaban a su vez recuerdos de su juventud.
La idea principal que se elaboró como respuesta fue la concepción de una cubierta que, a modo de colina artificial abstracta, envolvería dichos elementos y bajo la que se generarían los nuevos espacios de la vivienda. La cubierta, por motivos constructivos y de ficiencia energética, se resolvió como una losa y gran envolvente aislante. para facilitar la ejecución y el suministro de materiales, se optó por una costrucción de bloques que potencia la imágen de solidez y mejora la capacidad aislante de las fachadas.
