Shopping Lists.
As part of a project looking into things we throw away, I began collecting things that was once of value to it's owner but now have been thrown to the floor, becoming homeless and unloved.
Here are half of the shopping lists I collected over a 3 month period. I never planned to collect so many but after the first 10 or so I couldn't help but pick them up off the floor of the supermarket in which I work.
I find these lists fascinating, the materials used to write these lists on ranges from good quality note paper, to ripped off corners of Christmas cards. I also love the variation in handwriting, some have beautiful handwriting, others are a scrawled mess, with terrible spelling.
I am currently working on an advertising piece which uses these shopping lists to communicate with the customers of a popular supermarket chain.
