This ring was entered into the Winter 2016 Rendering Competition at Savannah College of Art and Design. The contest called for entries that represented the theme of sumptuousness. Merriam-Webster defines sumptuous as being “extremely costly, rich, luxurious, or magnificent.” My design reflects this through its use of precious metal and stones. Its form flows and twists, raising the stones above the hand and reflecting light in all directions. The design allows the stones to fire from all sides drawing attention to the wearer and the opulent materials.
