The 7 Deadly Sins - Reimagined

Most people have a picture that comes to mind when the 7 Deadly Sins are mentioned, but very few tend to think of the sins outside of what directly relates to them; Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Pride, Sloth and Wrath.

I chose to look at the 7 Sins in a different way, trying to find a category of objects and icons that are so far away from what the sins represent, but that still relate to those sins.

The first category that I have taken to the illustration stage is the category of childrens' toys.
So far, I have finished illustrating 3 out of the 7 sins. The first 3 to be completed are Pride, Greed, and Sloth.

I chose to use building blocks to represent the sin of Pride, because children are always so proud of their creations, even to the extent of knocking other's buildings over so that their's is the only one standing and the only one recieving attention.

Crayons were used to represent the sin of Greed, because as a child you could never have enough crayons. You would go out to eat and get three to four main colors (red, blue, green, and yellow), and then you would complain that the few colors that you had were not enough and you needed more.

A generic game controller was used to represent the sin of Sloth, because many children will plug into a game and then spend hours staring at the screen as they battle their way through the different levels, usually without moving from their spot with the exception of bathroom breaks and food.
I am also working on another set of the 7 Sins that will be considered unconventional, which is representing the sins through some various Disney icons and characters.

Most people have a certain picture of the 7 Sins, but these don't necessarily fit into that picture that everyone has.
