Casa Mirador: 'House with a view', Almere NL
A dyke on the shore of the Markermeer forms the site of a villa designed for a private couple. The front of the house enjoys a spectacular view across the lake and of the adjacent nature reserve. The design expresses its visual bond with the surroundings through a large glazed “eye” which projects from the volume at second-floor level. The name of the house, Casa Mirador (the house with a view), underscores this relation.
Aan de dijk aan het Markermeer is een villa ontworpen voor een echtpaar. Het huis heeft aan de voorzijde een spectaculair uitzicht over het Markermeer en het aanliggende natuurgebied. In het ontwerp komt dit tot uiting door de woonkamer op de derde verdieping met een groot glazen 'oog' dat uit het volume van het huis steekt. Vandaar ook de naam: Casa Mirador, huis met uitzicht.
