We planned this only about three months before, because we wanted to see the aurora borealis, also known as northern lights. We chose the Lofoten islands in Norway to try this, because it also offered a stunning and unique landscape, so we'd not only spend our money on the small chance of seeing some auroras. We really saw some amazing landscapes with beautiful light, and on top of that we also got to see the northern lights 5 (!) times. It was a short trip but absolutely worth the money and time spent.
