Background
Rotterdams finest kingsdayfestival is Oranjebitter. Back in 2008 a couple of friends started it as a small home party with some local bands. To represent that homey feeling, they took an image of granny’s floorlamp as their logo. Over the years the party grew into a full size festival attracting around 10.000 visitors.

The case
In 2015 they approached Mals to design a suiting campaign. For their lucky 7th anniversary we decided it would be best to go with a Neonsign theme and upgrade that floorlamp to give it some well deserved power.
It took us over 600 light bulbs, 120 meters of cable light and 200 meters of wiring to create this tower of light entirely by hand. It brought us loads of fun making it.
